areas we cover
where I work
Godalming, and an hour around it. Close enough to turn up when turning up is what the job needs.
Most of this work is done from a desk, and most of it could be done from anywhere. The reason the area matters is the part that cannot: standing in a reception looking at the screen that is meant to be showing the day's bookings, putting a touchscreen on a wall, sitting across a table while somebody explains how their quoting actually works rather than how it is supposed to.
So the rule is simple. If I can get there and back inside a morning, it is in. That is roughly Guildford and Farnham to the north, the Hampshire border to the west, Petworth and the South Downs to the south, and Woking and Farnborough at the edges. Beyond that I am still happy to talk, and plenty of the work here is for firms with offices in several places at once.
Godalming
The home town. Five minutes from the High Street, and the place most of this started.
what I do hereGuildford
Four miles up the road, and where a good deal of the bespoke application work has ended up.
what I do hereFarnham
Across the county, and the kind of town where the network matters as much as the website.
what I do hereCranleigh
Twenty minutes through Bramley, for a village that runs on its own high street.
what I do hereWoking
Twenty-five minutes north, for offices that have outgrown the tools they started with.
what I do hereHaslemere
Twenty minutes down the A286, where three counties meet and the broadband is an opinion.
what I do hereLiphook
Twenty-five minutes down the A3, on the Hampshire side of the border.
what I do herePetersfield
Thirty-five minutes down the A3, for a market town with more going on than its size suggests.
what I do hereFarnborough
Thirty-five minutes west, where the engineering is serious and the websites often are not.
what I do hereAlton
Forty minutes along the A31, for a town that does a lot of its business by van.
what I do hereBordon
Half an hour down the A325, for a town rebuilding itself around new businesses.
what I do herePetworth
Half an hour down the A283, where how something looks is usually the point.
what I do herenot on the list?
The towns here are the ones I am in often enough to say so. They are not a fence.
A website, an application or a Microsoft 365 tenant does not care where it is, and some of this work is for firms I see twice a year. If you are further out and the job is mostly build rather than hands on hardware, send it over and I will tell you honestly whether the distance matters.
no obligation, and no sales call
start with the problem
Tell me what you are trying to fix and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it. No obligation, and no sales call.
The fact find takes about five minutes and means I can quote properly.
